John August

John is a current Hollywood screen writer. Some of John’s credits include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish, Go, and Charlie’s Angels. But that’s not why he gets Person of the Day.    His blog johnaugust.com  is a plethora of updated buzz about not just what’s going on in general but what’s really going on with a screenwriter.  If you have an aspirations of writing for movies go here and read what goes on with a professional writer.  He makes his living off of writing and then he hands out writing tips for free on his blog.

What really prompted me to showcase him as Person of the Day  may very well be the fact that he came up with the Simpsons Movie best ad yet. Apparently the MPAA rated it Pg-13 for, get this, Irreverent Humor Throughout.   John points out that this isn’t really a rating but could easily be a line from a critic in a Trailer, but this time it’s from the MPAA.

Meanwhile, check out the archives and be amazed at the new insight gained from someone so open about his work as a tried and true Hollywood screenwriter.
